An exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our client, a world-renowned manufacturer of medical devices on a permanent contract. This role will form part of the leadership team onsite with the view to progressing to Director-Level position in the medium-term. This role would suit someone with strong leadership skills, stakeholder management experience, and a strong technical background.
Role Overview:
To provide technical/engineering support of multiple product lines, technologies, or specialised functions. Devotes a significant portion of time to managerial, leadership, and employee development.
Role Responsibilities:
1. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for the Manufacturing Engineering of a given area.
2. Works with Value Stream and Quality Engineering Manager to deliver business objectives – lean manufacturing metrics, VIP, cycle time, scarp as %VOP etc.
3. Responsible for developing a world class-manufacturing group that is proficient in problem-solving manufacturing issues using Six-Sigma tools.
4. The Engineering Manager drives IBP (Integrated Business Plan) contract deliverables by providing input on process technology selection.
5. The Engineering Manager develops and executes departmental budgets and capital spending.
6. The Engineering Manager leads or represents function in periodic business metric reviews.
7. Initiates cross-functional partnerships to identify and resolve production/engineering issues.
8. Prioritizes and drives execution of multiple complex department projects. Sponsors and supports Operations Value Improvement Process (VIP) or Strategic Activity Review (STAR) projects.
9. Responsible for the departmental basics including budgeting, hiring, day-to-day management, project resourcing, etc.
10. Establishes and supports a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC's Quality policy, Quality System & the appropriate regulations for the area.
11. Ensures employees are trained to do their work and their training is documented.
12. Maintain compliance metrics around adherence to preventative maintenance schedule and calibration schedule.
13. Ensure relevant documentation is prepared and updated in line with all Quality and Regulatory guidelines and promotes full compliance to all GMP & E&AS requirements.
14. Maintain and develop the team's technical and trouble shooting skills.
15. Sustain an environment of continuous improvement.
Role Requirements:
16. Level 8 qualification required in a related discipline.
17. Ideally 8 + years experience in a Leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
18. Demonstrated experiencing of influencing at all levels and building strategic relationships.
19. Strong focus on driving an engaged and inclusive culture and developing a high performing cross functional diverse teams.
20. Results driven with a proven ability to deliver targets and meet deadlines.
21. Key Decision Maker and ability to drive innovation and influence site strategy.
22. Excellent understanding of financial acumen and ability to manage budgets and deliver on strategic plans.
