Job Title: Accounts Assistant
This is a full-time permanent opportunity to join the finance team of a reputable business. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities:
* Answering telephone calls promptly and directing them to the appropriate personnel;
* Responding to emails in a professional manner;
* Coding supplier invoices to the nominal ledger;
* Completing month-end accruals and Mastercard reconciliation;
* Raising purchase orders for other departments as required;
* Maintaining and updating records of company vehicles (Vehicle Tax, MOT & services);
* Liaising with new and existing suppliers daily to ensure all documentation is complete and up-to-date;
* Preparing new and existing account information, including processing supplier evaluation forms;
* Sales invoicing/Lodgements – providing holiday cover;
* Covering for other members of the admin team, including reception duties for holidays, periods of sickness, and other absences when required;
* Preparing contract costs;
* Payroll duties;
Essential Criteria:
* Proven experience in an administrative position, particularly within finance or office management environment;
* Proficient in payroll;
* Able to manage a high-volume purchase ledger, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate records;
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail, especially when dealing with financial data and documents;
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively;
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
* Proficient in using Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Word) and experience with financial software or accounting systems;
