The role ofExecutive Valuerincludes, but is not limited to, the following duties:Efficientlydeterminingstatutory valuationsin accordance withthe Valuation Act 2001, as amended, and in line with TÉ practices and policies in place, with minimum supervision,guidanceand support;and/orEfficientlycarrying outnon-statutory valuations, including “Red Book” compliant valuationsin accordance withTÉ Valuation procedures, practices,and policies, with minimum supervision,guidanceand support;Collecting, recording,and analysing relevant market transactions and other data, statistics,informationand evidencein accordance withValuation procedures, practices,and policies, with minimum supervision,guidanceand support;Preparing, giving evidence,and/or advocating appeals before the Valuation Tribunal and other such bodiesin accordance withrelevant procedures,practicesand policies, with minimum supervision,guidanceand support;Supporting andassistingthe Valuation Manager and other team members to ensure the production of high-quality valuations in the team, to include mentoring in elements of routine and non-routine casework undertaken by Valuers;Carrying out audit activities asrequired;Preparing draft practice notes and instructions;Preparing anddelivering presentations and ContinuousProfessionalDevelopment(CPD)events in relation to valuation of properties;Training and mentoring Valuer staff;Sharing knowledge, skills, experience,andexpertisewith colleagues in an open and collaborative manner and working cooperatively in a team environment;Supplying material for, and preparing draft responses to, correspondence, representations from public representatives,and parliamentary questions ina timelyand efficient manner with minimum supervision,guidanceand support;Developing andmaintaininga good working knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and the application of precedent, practice notes and case law underpinning valuation and rating practice and principles;Developing andmaintaininga good working knowledge of context and application of valuationmethodology, practice notes, Valuation Tribunal and Court decisions, and be proficient in the application of the relevant precedents and determinations to ongoing casework;Developing and building on ICT, data, and analytical skillsrequiredfor evolving Valuation practices;Meeting deadlines through deploying the most efficient and effective means of working to the requisite quality standards in line with Valuation procedures,practicesand policies;Successfully managing and progressing multiple work activities simultaneously;Engaging actively in the achievement of corporate and businessobjectivesin a positive, flexible,and constructive manner;Participating effectively in working groups and other fora, asrequired.Note:This job description is subject to re-definition as part of ongoing reforms within the Public Service and change management initiatives within TÉ.Job RequirementsHoldarelevantacademic qualification at minimum Level8on the National Framework of Qualificationsorequivalent;andHave formally obtained a professional qualification of Chartered Surveyor or anequivalent professional qualification which is recognised by SCSI/RICS as equivalent to Chartered Surveyor;andDemonstrateat least 2 years’ recent experience workingin the area ofcommercial property valuation;andDemonstrate astrongrecord of achievement in their career to date;andThe capacity todemonstratetoa high levelthe key competencies that have been devised for posts at this level under the following headings(see Appendix A for more details):Leadership;Judgement, Analysis & Decision Making;Management & Delivery of Results;Interpersonal & Communication Skills;Specialist Knowledge,Expertiseand Self Development;Drive & Commitment to Public Service Values.Benefits & CompensationThe PPC (Personal Pension Contribution) salary for this position with effect from 1 st February 2026 is as follows:The substantive location for these posts is in TÉ headquarters in Dublin. We have several regional locations which may allow for successful candidates to be based outside of Dublin, subject to business needs and office capacity in the regional locations. TÉ operates a Blended Working Policy. An Initial training period of approximately 12 to 16 weeks in TÉ headquarters will be required on a full-time basis.
