Reperio has partnered with a well-known product-focused company that is hiring a Technical Lead to drive backend system architecture, development, and performance for a critical domain: a real-time availability engine used for integrations with hospitality, leisure, and retail partners across Europe.
This role is hands-on and code-focused (no direct reports), ideal for someone who wants to influence architecture, mentor developers, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in a supportive engineering culture.
Responsibilities:
* Lead technical design and backend architecture for a real-time, highly available platform
* Build scalable PHP services using Symfony, REST/SOAP APIs, and modern messaging tools
* Enhance code quality, test coverage, and CI/CD practices within the team
* Collaborate with product, QA, and offshore engineering teams to deliver secure, high-performing systems
* Represent the platform in technical discussions and company-wide initiatives
Requirements:
* 6+ years of backend development experience with PHP (7 or 8)
* Hands-on experience with Symfony or similar frameworks
* Strong skills in API design and data modeling
* Knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, containers, and clean architecture
* Ability to work effectively across teams, time zones, and technical functions
