Senior Data Engineer
Duration: 12-month initial contract.
Location: Galway, hybrid, 1 week per month onsite.
Rate: Up to €550 per day.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to support the data initiatives and strategic objectives of the Asset Management Strategic Advisors business. In this role, you will be responsible for data analysis, Oracle database development, ETL design and implementation, testing, deployment, and the application of engineering best practices. The ideal candidate is passionate about solving complex data challenges, improving data quality, and delivering innovative, scalable solutions that support business stakeholders.
Required Expertise
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
At least 5 years of hands‑on experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development.
Strong data analysis and problem‑solving capabilities.
Proven experience with SQL and PL/SQL performance optimization and tuning.
Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
Technical Skills and Experience
Strong understanding of logical data modelling and relational database design principles.
Experience with ETL and data integration processes; Informatica experience is preferred.
Exposure to AWS cloud services, Data API development, Snowflake, and Python is advantageous.
Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and practices is beneficial.
Experience with Git, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
Exposure to financial services, investment management, or related domains is a plus.
Experience working within Agile teams and collaborating across geographically distributed teams is desirable.
