Job Description:
Enet is Ireland’s largest, open access network provider, building and operating the largest alternative wholesale telecoms network in Ireland.As the Head of Carrier Relations & Services at Enet you will lead the strategic sourcing and procurement activities required to support the delivery and expansion of fixed wholesale carrier services on Enet’s telecoms network. A key part of your role will be ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and compliant acquisition of goods and services necessary for network operations, service provisioning, and client enablement. This role will also oversee the development of services offered to other carriers, ensuring optimal connectivity and is crucial in building strategic partnerships in the telecom industry's interconnected landscape.We operate a hybrid working model, with 2 days per week in our Limerick or Dublin offices. This role reports directly to the Chief Commercial Officer.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute procurement strategies for wholesale carrier services, including sourcing network product and third-party services required for wholesale carrier servicesNetwork Strategy: Collaborate with the business development function, product and technology to develop and executes strategies to optimise and enhance Enet’s network and wholesale carrier services, market position and profitability.Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, vendors and carriers, acting as the primary point of contact for commercial negotiations and contract management to secure favourable terms.Contract Negotiation: Negotiate and manage contracts, pricing, and service level agreements with suppliers to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance.CoGS Savings Identification and Delivery: Lead initiatives to identify, quantify, and deliver sustainable reductions in Cost of Goods Sold (CoGS) across the carrier services portfolio.Team Leadership: Leads the procurement team, providing guidance, training, and resources to improve overall performance.Operational Oversight: Ensure the timely and efficient procurement of goods and services, working closely with technology, operations, and commercial teams to support business needs.Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of market trends, supplier innovations and network developments, along with pricing dynamics to inform the development of carrier services and associated procurement strategies.Supplier Billing Reviews: Conduct regular reviews of supplier invoices and billing practices to ensure accuracy, compliance, and optimal value. Resolve discrepancies and implement process improvements as needed.Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, legal, technology, and commercial teams to align procurement activities with business objectives and delivery requirements.Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all procurement activities comply with regulatory requirements and company policies. Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.Performance Management: Monitor and report on key performance indicators for supplier performance, procurement spend, cost savings, and CoGS reduction initiatives. Implement corrective actions as needed.Key Skills / Qualifications:A self-starter and motivated individual - the ideal candidate will have:Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering/Telecommunications/ Computer Science/Business/Supply Chain Management or related fieldM.Sc./ MBA desirableTelecommunications networking (design, build and operations) experience essential8 - 10 years' experience in the telecommunications sector, specifically within network Engineering, supply chain and operations roles.Min 5 years managerial experience, overseeing diverse teams, projects and operations.Excellent understanding of industry best practice in the design, build and operations of telecommunications networks.Strong negotiation skills and experience managing complex contracts and supplier relationships.Ability to analyse market trends, supplier performance, procurement metrics, and billing data to inform strategic decisions.Strategic thinking and strong business acumen are essential in this role.
