Cost Engineer - Mechanical Estimator
We are seeking a skilled Cost Engineer to join our team as a Mechanical Estimator. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate mechanical cost estimates in a timely manner.
* You will conduct in-depth reviews of tender documents, drawings, specifications, and schedules.
* Performance of accurate quantity take-offs and marking up measured drawings is essential.
* You will request, manage, and evaluate supplier and sub-contractor quotations.
* Issuing tender queries and RFIs is a key responsibility.
* You will prepare costed bill of quantities.
* Tender reports, tender pricing schedules, and other tender return documents require your attention to detail.
* You will advise on potential value engineering opportunities.
* Management of database and attending meetings and site visits as required.
Requirements:
* A degree in Mechanical, Process, Building Services Engineering or related field is essential.
* Previous mechanical cost estimating or design experience is highly desirable.
* Strong computer skills, especially in the use of MS Office, are necessary.
* You must have a strong understanding of mechanical & process pipework systems, HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical building services systems.
* A good knowledge of different mechanical & process pipework materials is required.
* You should have strong attention to detail.
* Able to interpret drawings and specifications, perform accurate take-offs, and prepare detailed BOQs.
* You should be able to manage own workload and meet deadlines.
* Able to display excellent time management, communication, numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
