Post ID: 038428 Post Summary: This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with an interest in mentoring to make a significant contribution to developing and implementing a new plan for Alumni-to-Student career mentoring programmes at Trinity.
They will co-ordinate and support all related programme activities and events, explore the use of technology to support online connections and streamline programme efficiency, and scope and develop a new matched career mentoring programme for targeted student groups including the running of a pilot programme in 2025/26.
This project will inform how Alumni-to-Student career mentoring can be expanded and sustained at Trinity into the future as a key feature of the student experience.
Reporting to the Career Consultant who leads our Alumni-to-Student programme in the Trinity Careers Service, the Career Mentoring Officer will work collaboratively with colleagues across the Service, Trinity Development and Alumni, Trinity Teaching and Learning, and across the wider University, as well as with external stakeholders.
They will ensure clear and effective communication across all stakeholders, governance committees, and other areas of Trinity involved in mentoring programmes.
This role includes a requirement for some evening work to support events.
Post status: Specific Purpose Contract, Part Time 0.6 FTE The specific purpose of this employment is to assist in the developing and implementing of a new plan for Alumni-to-Student career mentoring programmes at Trinity College Dublin.
The post holder will co-ordinate and support all related programme activities and events, explore the use of technology to support online connections and streamline programme efficiency, and scope and develop a new matched career mentoring programme for targeted student groups including the running of a pilot programme in 2025/26, amongst other duties.
This employment is not offered on an indefinite basis as the piloting activities associated with the role are expected to be completed within a finite period.
Furthermore, the position is funded by a non-core university funding stream and will cease in a finite period.
Therefore, termination of this contract will occur upon completion of the work in which you are engaged, or if the funding stream is terminated or withdrawn by the funding source.
Hours of Post: 35 hours per week, Pro Rata 0.6 FTE.
21 hours per week.
Salary: This appointment will be made on the Administrative 2 Salary Scale (€58,415 - €68,639 per annum) pro- rata at a point in line with current Government pay policy.
