Job Title: Neuro-Interventional & Cerebrovascular Services Radiology Manager

Department: Radiology

Reports to: Head of Radiology Operations

Date: 2025

Overall Purpose of Job

To lead and manage the delivery of high-quality, safe, and efficient interventional radiology and Cerebrovascular services in Beacon Hospital. The role integrates clinical leadership, operational oversight, business analysis, and people management to ensure optimal performance and patient outcomes.

Will provide exceptional patient care in an environment where quality, respect, caring and compassion are at the centre of all we do.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

Clinical & Operational Oversight : Oversees daily operations of

1. Neuro Interventional Radiology and Cerebrovascular services in the Brain Institute, Beacon Hospital.

2. Ensure compliance with clinical governance, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.

Business Analysis & Service Development

* Analyse service performance metrics (e.g. throughput, wait times, modality utilization)
* Develop and implement strategies for service expansion and efficiency
* Prepare business cases for equipment upgrades, staffing models, and service redesign
* Monitor budgetary performance and contribute to financial planning

Leadership & People Management

* Lead a multidisciplinary team.
* Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, and professional development with the support from Head of Radiology Operations
* Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
* Conduct performance reviews and support staff wellbeing

Stakeholder Engagement

* Liaise with Multidisciplinary teams
* Work closely with the Quality team, DPO, and Legal to ensure compliant software and data use
* Represent Neuro interventional Radiology and Beacon Brain institute in hospital-wide strategic planning and governance forums.

Person Specification

Qualifications

* BSc Radiography
* Post Graduate Education in Interventional radiology
* Post Graduate qualification in Leadership

Experience

* A minimum of 10 years experience working as a radiographer
* Demonstrate experience of working with a team of Radiographers.
* Competent in intravenous cannulation and contrast administration.
* Evidence of post registration professional development.

* Demonstrate excellent communication skills, especially the ability to communicate clear and concise instructions to patients in an understandable manner.
* Be able to deal with staff and management at all levels within the organisation.
* Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.

* Demonstrate an awareness and appreciation of the service user.
* Demonstrate evidence of ability to empathise with and treat patients, relatives and colleagues with dignity and respect.

Personal Competencies

All posts in Beacon Hospital require a high level of flexibility to ensure the delivery of an effective and efficient service. Therefore, the post holder will be required to demonstrate flexibility as and when required by their manager or hospital management.
