Amazon Web Services (AWS) provides a highly reliable, scalable, low-cost infrastructure platform in the cloud that powers hundreds of thousands of businesses in 190 countries around the world. To meet the growing demand for AWS cloud computing capacity in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) we are looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join the team.
Key Job Responsibilities
Support vendors, contractors and other teams involved in the construction and commissioning of high, medium and low voltage power systems, generators, UPS, HVAC, chilled water systems, building management systems (BMS), electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS), testing and balancing, pumps and hydronic systems.
Provide multi‑discipline input into scheduling, test script development, design, and planning of projects.
Review component submittal packages, lead factory witness testing (FWT), perform system‑level and integrated system testing.
Continuously audit activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements.
Provide comprehensive weekly reporting of status of all ongoing projects and lessons learned to continually improve program quality.
Physical Requirements
Walk job sites in uneven terrain, work at heights and ladders.
Regularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Carry objects weighing up to 49 pounds for short distances.
Work shifts longer than eight hours in duration with potential for night and weekends, respond to off‑hour emergency calls.
Reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance.
Bend or twist the body into unusual positions while working.
Manipulate small wires and objects easily, work in noisy environment.
Work in environments that are colder or hotter than normal office environment.
Travel up to 50% may be required.
About The Team
AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. The Data Center Commissioning Team (ACx) is a wholly independent business within the DCGS organization, composed of electrical, mechanical, controls, architectural engineers, project managers, operators and experienced AWS employees who provide in‑depth engineering and operational review and testing of equipment designs, operational functionality and construction practices.
The team works on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain, and strives to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost.

Basic Qualifications
Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission‑critical facilities, including data centres, power generation or oil and gas facilities.
Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data centre equipment and facilities.
Experience in commissioning.
Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer License.
Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
