Clinical Nurse Manager Job
The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination and management of activity and resources within the endoscopy unit to ensure the provision of a safe, quality assured, efficient service for patients and colleagues.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Manage patient care to ensure high professional standards using evidence-based care planning approaches.
2. Provide professional and clinical leadership.
3. Deliver comprehensive nursing care to service users within established guidelines.
4. Collaborate with teams, participating in meetings and committees as necessary.
5. Facilitate coordination, cooperation, and liaison across healthcare teams.
6. Organize schedules within the Endoscopy unit, working in conjunction with the ADON.
7. Supervise day-to-day activities of the endoscopy team.
8. Develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based policies, guidelines, and procedures for the unit.
9. Lead accreditation processes, identifying continuous quality improvements and developing quality programs in consultation with the multidisciplinary team.
10. Stay updated on research and developments in nursing, engaging in continuous professional development.
11. Foster positive relationships among colleagues and other staff by maintaining high professional standards.
12. Work within allocated resources through effective planning, monitoring, and evaluation.
13. Function effectively as a member of the multidisciplinary team, promoting good teamwork and excellent patient care.
14. Ensure communication at departmental level and facilitate team building.
15. Provide staff leadership and motivation conducive to good working relations and work performance.
16. Manage all resources efficiently and effectively.
17. Assume responsibility for all equipment such as endoscopy monitors, Dynamaps, suction apparatus, diathermy machines, light source, and photographic printer.
18. Verify that suction lines, water bottles, and tubing are attached to suction machines.
19. Update the Endoscopy register and confirm the Endoscopy list is synchronized with PIMS, ensuring correct patient details are also recorded on the Endobase System.
20. Monitor safe and economic use of all supplies, always considering budget implications of implementing care and treatments.
21. Be familiar with stock management at unit level and know how to access/order stock while maintaining adequate stock levels to meet daily requirements.
22. Ensure patients are correctly positioned and attached to monitoring equipment and oxygen.
23. Assist the Anaesthetist and consultant with drug preparation and any necessary checks.
