The role focuses on building strong customer relationships, identifying sales opportunities, and converting leads into profitable, long-term contracts within technical and industrial environments.Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business DevelopmentIdentify and pursue new sales opportunities across calibration, measurement, vision, and metrology services and productsDevelop and manage a strong pipeline of prospects through outbound activity, referrals, and inbound enquiriesQualify leads and convert enquiries into orders through effective proposals, presentations, and follow-upAchieve and exceed individual sales targets and KPIsAccount ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with existing customers across industrial and regulated sectorsAct as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accountsIdentify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing accountsSupport contract renewals and customer retention initiativesCustomer Engagement & Technical SupportUnderstand customer requirements and communicate them clearly to technical and operations teamsCoordinate discussions between internal departments to ensure customer needs are fully metPresent metrology and measurement solutions in a clear, customer-focused manner (technical training provided)Attend customer meetings, site visits, and industry events as requiredCommercial & Administrative SupportPrepare quotations, proposals, and tender responses in line with agreed pricing policiesMaintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions and opportunities within the CRM systemSupport sales forecasting, reporting, and pipeline reviewsEnsure compliance with internal procedures, quality standards, and commercial policiesKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)New business revenue generatedSales target achievementPipeline value and conversion ratesCustomer retention and repeat businessAccuracy and timeliness of CRM updatesSkills & ExperienceEssentialPrevious experience in a sales, business development, or customer-facing roleStrong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skillsOrganised, self-motivated, and target-driven approachAbility to build rapport and trust with customersComfortable working in a technical, industrial, or engineering-led environmentDesirableExperience in metrology, calibration, instrumentation, vision systems, engineering, or technical servicesExposure to regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, aerospace, or manufacturingExperience using CRM systemsB2B and/or field sales experienceQualificationsDegree, diploma, or equivalent experience in business, engineering, science, or a related disciplineFull driving licence (if field-based role)Personal AttributesProactive, resilient, and positive attitudeCustomer-focused with a consultative sales approachWillingness to learn technical concepts and industry standardsProfessional, reliable, and results-orientedWhat’s on OfferCompetitive base salary plus commission/bonus structureStructured training and development in metrology and calibration standardsClear career progression opportunities within the commercial functionSupportive and collaborative team environment
