PM Group's OTS (Outsourced Technical Services) department are currently seeking to recruit an experiuenced Quantity Surveyor to be based on one of our clients sites based in Co. Kilkenny Additionally the site manager may be required to fulfil the following roles as part of their duties. Responsibilities The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all commercial aspects of wastewater treatment projects, with a strong emphasis on tender preparation, cost estimation, and contract management. The role involves working closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure accurate and competitive pricing, cost control, and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: Tender Preparation & Cost Estimation Prepare and analyse costings for tenders, including materials, labour, and overheads. Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to develop competitive and accurate quotations. Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and ensure alignment with project specifications. Review contract terms and conditions during tender stage to identify risks and opportunities. Project Financial Management Monitor and control project budgets from award to completion. Track variations and changes to contracts, ensuring timely valuation and reporting. Prepare monthly valuations, progress reports, and final accounts. Ensure compliance with NEC or other relevant contract forms. Procurement & Subcontractor Management Advise on procurement strategies and negotiate with suppliers for best value. Allocate work to subcontractors, value completed work, and arrange payments. Ensure subcontractor documentation and insurances are in place prior to commencement. Reporting & Compliance Maintain accurate records of project costs, variations, and financial KPIs. Prepare internal cost reports and trackers for management review. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and environmental policies. Qualifications Qualifications & Experience: Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline. Minimum 5 years' experience in a QS role, ideally within water/wastewater or civil infrastructure projects. Experience with NEC contracts and tendering for public sector projects (e.g., Irish Water). Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Working towards or holding chartered status (MRICS, CIOB, or ICES) is desirable. #LI-MD1
