Job Profile
The Lead Mechanical Design Engineer will be part of the R&D team, developing next-generation vision systems for automotive applications. The role involves managing all mechanical aspects of projects, ensuring robust designs delivered on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
* Lead mechanical design projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams developing ADAS solutions including cameras, ECUs, and domain controllers.
* Represent R&D in project, customer, and supplier interactions.
* Interface effectively across multidisciplinary environments.
* Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
* Support other departmental tasks as needed.
* Prioritize work at daily, weekly, and project levels.
* Identify resource needs and escalate issues as necessary.
* Lead technical activities like product validation, tolerance analysis, DFMEA, and design optimization.
* Manage project documentation in PLM systems.
* Support technical standards and architecture assignments.
Education/Training:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design.
Professional Experience:
* Minimum 5 years in Mechanical Design.
* Experience in high-volume product development.
* Tooling and molding expertise.
* Knowledge of engineering tools like DOE and SPC.
* Proficient in 2D drawings and 3D CAD design.
* Self-motivated, capable of working independently or in teams.
* Strong commitment, initiative, and quality workmanship.
* Good communication skills in English.
* Previous senior or lead engineering experience, preferably managing teams.
* Automotive industry experience, especially with vision products and electronics.
* Experience in tolerance analysis, GD&T, thermal design (active/passive).
