Cpl are currently working with a leading Semi-state organisation; our client is looking to hire Capex Accountant to join their team. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the Investment & Reporting Controller on the Management of Capital Projects and Costs and reporting in a sustainable way. Collaborate and Support Procurement on the Evaluation of Project Costs Estimates. Supporting the Investment & Reporting controller in the collation of planned investment & expedition of those plans, tracking budgets, variances and highlighting of any potential risks or issues that may arise or are raised. Supporting the Investment & Reporting Controller and GL team on Building Maintenance, Budget Preparation, Periodic Monitoring of spend/open Commits. Collaborating closely with the GL team on the fixed asset register, asset verifications and disposals. Supporting the Investment & Reporting controller in the development of Statement of Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required, aligned with key legislative requirements such as government policy frameworks. Assisting with Internal/External Audits & Compliance. Supporting the Investment & Reporting Controller in Capex Steering & Evaluation Committee and other sub committees re: meeting agenda, minutes, papers, and any follow up. Working with other functions in evaluating, enhancing Processes & System(s) development where possible to enable efficiencies whilst ensuring compliance, mindful of any future upgrades such as SAP (existing Financial System). Proactively consider technology solutions for efficient planning and reporting. Ensuring all periodic, quarterly, year-end tasks such as Financial Reporting, reconciliation & Compliance reporting are completed as outlined by timelines. Collaborating with GL on PAS/BAS Asset creation following ARC/Board Approvals & periodic reporting. Collaborate with the Investment & Reporting Controller on the Compliance with New Era Climate Action Framework, Public Spending Code, EU Taxonomy & CSRD reporting with internal & external stakeholders as required. Skills & Knowledge: Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience. Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven application of investment appraisal techniques. Hands-on financial experience in Capital Investment, including Financial Accounts and Reporting. Solid understanding of business structures, systems, financial operations, and company-wide processes. Proficient in project management and process improvement methodologies, with practical implementation experience. Experienced in SAP systems for financial reporting and data analysis.
