A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee large-scale civil engineering and infrastructure projects across Dublin and Kildare.
Based primarily in the companys head office in Dunshaughlin, Co.
Meath, this role will involve occasional site visits as required.
This is a senior leadership position where you will act as the lead commercial authority across multiple projects, managing and mentoring a team of 45 Junior and Intermediate Quantity Surveyors.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced QS looking to take full commercial ownership and play a key strategic role within a growing and well-established contractor.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the commercial management of multiple large-scale civil engineering and infrastructure projects Oversee cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting across all assigned projects Review and approve interim valuations, variations, claims, and final accounts Provide commercial guidance and strategic input to senior management Manage and mentor a team of 45 Junior and Intermediate Quantity Surveyors Ensure consistency and best practice across all commercial procedures Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks while maximising project profitability Oversee subcontract procurement, negotiation, and contract administration Liaise with project managers, site teams, clients, and subcontractors Support tender reviews and assist with pre-construction commercial planning where required Requirements: Minimum 7+ years experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure projects Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously Strong leadership experience, ideally managing and mentoring QS teams Excellent knowledge of cost management, contract administration, and commercial strategy Strong analytical, negotiation, and reporting skills Relevant degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline Ability to operate both strategically at head office level and practically when required on-site Benefits: Competitive salary of €85,000 €100,000 per annum (depending on experience) Pension scheme Company vehicle or travel allowance Clear progression pathway into Commercial Manager level If you are an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor ready to take full commercial ownership of multiple infrastructure projects and lead a team within a growing civil engineering contractor, please send your CV or contact for a confidential discussion.
