We are seeking an experienced product owner to join our Innovation and Ventures Team through the next phase of growth as our customer base expands and our strategy evolves to meet the market opportunities in this rapidly evolving market. This exciting role is being offered on a full time, permanent basis. As part of the I&V team this role will focus on one of our most important products, Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC). DCC allows customers the benefit of paying for goods and services in their own currency when travelling abroad or shopping in foreign currencies. As the payments industry continues to evolve there is a growing need for new product features to support our clients across the globe. This is a technical role giving the successful candidate the opportunity to work very closely with our engineers to solve complex technical challenges and opportunities. The role is being offered on a full time basis with the opportunity to work from our offices based in Dublin or Kerry with flexibility to work a hybrid model. JOB PURPOSE As a Product Owner, you will play a key role in providing strategic solutions to maximise the benefit of our DCC products. You will bring a keen understanding of the business value of technology, and you will help to create a culture where the focus always begins with customer challenges, and not simply technology for its own sake. As Product Owner, you will create and maintain the product backlog, prioritise work based on internal and external demand, and become a subject matter expert for the DCC businesses. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Working with Product Management, drive and deliver product and service improvements for the DCC product suite. Translate the product roadmap into well-defined product requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria. Work with commercial teams and other stakeholders to refine requirements and ensure delivery on time and in budget Take ownership for Backlog, ensuring user stories are sprint ready. Prioritise and maintain the backlog, ensuring the delivery of requirements to the relevant stakeholders. Maintain documentation relating to existing and new product features Set and prioritise the work for the development team and review progress at the end of every sprint. Drive the collaboration between engineering, UX, and business users and other teams to refine and deliver the product backlog. Continuously review the backlog, refining priorities, outlining roadmap milestones and deliverables, and managing opportunities and risks. Liaise with Business and other stakeholders to refine requirements EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED 3 years+ Product Owner experience, ideally in financial services, with experience working in an agile scrum. Strong technical acumen and experience in working on technical solutions Academic qualifications, with a bachelors degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, information systems, business analysis or equivalents Experience translating complex features and deliverables into Epics and user stories. Excellent problem solving, communication, collaboration, influencing, and interpersonal skills A multidisciplinary approach to thinking, combining market, business, and technical insights to identify opportunities. Be able to work under pressure and deliver a varied and busy workload to deadline Demonstrable personal organisation, including the ability to work autonomously and prioritise tasks accordingly whilst keeping the business up to date on project developments Passion and drive to understand, envisage and deliver customer needs in partnership with the Business.
