A leading construction organisation is currently recruiting for a
Senior EHS Advisor
to support multiple active projects across the Munster region. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced EHS professional to operate at a senior level, influencing safety performance, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to wider environmental and sustainability objectives.
The successful candidate will work closely with project and site management teams to ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance are achieved and maintained across all sites.
The Role:
As Senior EHS Advisor, you will be responsible for driving EHS standards across several construction projects, providing expert guidance, and acting as a trusted advisor to both site teams and senior management.
Responsibilities:
* Carrying out site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with EHS legislation, standards, and internal procedures
* Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining risk assessments and method statements
* Leading toolbox talks and formal training sessions for employees and subcontractors
* Investigating incidents and near misses, completing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions
* Supporting the development and implementation of Construction Health & Safety Plans
* Ensuring effective control measures are in place for PPE, signage, emergency procedures, and site safety systems
* Managing and maintaining EHS documentation and statutory records
* Acting as the main point of contact during inspections by regulatory authorities
* Supporting environmental controls, waste management initiatives, and sustainability objectives on-site
* Providing ongoing advice on safety improvements and risk mitigation
* Managing and mentoring Graduate and Student EHS team members
* Coordinating EHS activities across multiple concurrent sites
* Delivering HammerTech training and user support
* Supporting ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 audit preparation and assessments
* Participating in senior management meetings, client discussions, and tender clarifications
* Supporting ESG and sustainability inputs for tenders and pre-qualification processes
* Completing additional instructor-level training where required
Requirements:
* Strong background in EHS within construction or a related sector
* In-depth knowledge of Irish health, safety, and environmental legislation
* Experience with ISO-certified management systems
* Confident communicator with the ability to influence site teams and senior stakeholders
* Highly organised, proactive, and capable of managing competing priorities across multiple sites
* Passionate about driving a positive safety culture and continuous improvement
