Our client is seeking applications for the role of Registrar in Radiology
It is a fixed term contract withing the Irish Health Service, offering high-quality, patient-centred care. The Radiology Department is equipped with state-of-the-art imaging technology and provides a full range of diagnostic and interventional services across inpatient and outpatient settings.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for doctors in training who wish to pursue a career in radiology or gain valuable radiology experience within a supportive academic environment. The successful candidate will work closely with Consultant Radiologists and other team members to deliver timely, accurate diagnostic imaging and patient care.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Perform and report on a variety of imaging modalities, including X-ray, Ultrasound, CT, and MRI under supervision
* Participate in interventional procedures as appropriate
* Attend multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and case discussions
* Participate in radiology teaching and training sessions
* Participate in the registrar on-call rota as required
* Ensure proper documentation and patient safety standards are maintained
Essential:
* Hold a recognised medical degree
* Be fully registered or eligible for registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC)
* Minimum 2 years post-graduate clinical experience (ideally including some exposure to radiology or imaging)
* Valid IELTS/OET certification if applicable (for non-native English speakers)
* Strong interest in pursuing a career in radiology
* Excellent communication, clinical, and interpersonal skills
Desirable:
* Prior experience in a radiology department
* Enrolment or eligibility for enrolment in the Faculty of Radiologists, RCSI training programme
* Research or audit experience
