Senior Automation Engineer - Greenfield & Brownfield Projects - Scope until 2030I'm seeking an experienced Process Automation Engineer to support the PCS workstream, which will utilise Rockwell-based control systems from a PLC and SCADA perspective. The ideal candidate will have full lifecycle experience and a proven track record on major capital projects within pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical environments.This position is part of a €1 billion greenfield Drug Product Facility currently in the early stages of construction, offering the chance to contribute from the ground up. The scope extends through 2033, encompassing the greenfield build, an existing brownfield project, and a digital twin initiative.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with OEM suppliers, system integrators, and internal teams to define and enforce automation standards and deliverables.Ensure seamless integration of filling equipment with PCS and MES systems.Understand operational functionality of filling equipment and confirm all required features are implemented.Define and communicate client automation requirements to vendors and stakeholders.Review and approve design documentation, including Functional Specifications (FS), Design Specifications (DS), and system drawings.Oversee configuration and coding standards to ensure high quality.Plan, attend, and supervise FAT and SAT activities.Coordinate with process owners, OEM teams, and project stakeholders for successful delivery.Manage change control processes and maintain rigorous documentation throughout the project lifecycle.Collaborate with CSV and QA teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and validation requirements.Support commissioning, qualification, and facility start-up.Requirements5+ years' experience with Rockwell Automation platforms, including:FactoryTalk Batch, FactoryTalk View, ControlLogix, PlantPAxStrong understanding of networking and thin client technologies.Expertise in machine safety directives and safety PLC systems.Proven experience in biopharma or pharmaceutical environments.Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder management skills.Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.Experience delivering large-scale capital projects with referenceable success.Interested?To learn more or apply, please send your CV to or get in touch via call or message.Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Contract Job function Engineering, Project Management, and Information Technology Industries Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Robotics Engineering, and Food and Beverage Manufacturing
