About the Role
Fortis Recruitment is partnering with a leading national insurance broker to hire an experienced Commercial Account Director. You’ll manage a large portfolio of commercial clients, act as a trusted advisor, and play a central role in retention and growth.
What You’ll Be Doing
Manage a portfolio of commercial clients, providing clear, expert guidance and tailored insurance solutions.
Carry out risk reviews and client consultations to shape bespoke programmes aligned to business needs.
Lead renewals, MTAs, and new placements with accuracy and professionalism.
Build strong relationships with underwriters, negotiating competitive terms and advising clients on complex proposals.
Support clients through complex claims, ensuring smooth, fair and timely resolution.
Stay on top of regulatory requirements and maintain high compliance standards.
What You’ll Bring
Solid experience as a Commercial Account Handler, confident managing more complex portfolios.
Strong technical knowledge across commercial lines and current market/underwriting trends.
CIP at a minimum – MDI ACII preferred.
Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability with a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset.
