Our client is seeking an experienced Wholesale Manager to lead the continued growth of a specialist Financial Lines portfolio while playing a key role in developing a delegated underwriting authority model.
This position combines technical expertise, team leadership, business development, and underwriting oversight. It offers the opportunity to build and scale a profitable Professional Indemnity portfolio while strengthening market relationships and developing a high-performing team.
The delegated underwriting authority will initially focus on Construction Professional Indemnity risks, including Design & Construct, Architects, Engineers, and Surveyors, with scope to expand into additional sectors over time.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and grow the Financial Lines portfolio, with a primary focus on Professional Indemnity supported by Cyber and related products.
Deliver new business and renewal growth aligned to agreed business targets.
Develop and execute a clear growth strategy balancing underwriting discipline, pricing strategy, market opportunity, and portfolio sustainability.
Expand into new sectors and risk categories as insurer appetite and portfolio growth develops.
Take ownership of a delegated underwriting authority model, ensuring governance, compliance, underwriting standards, and operational delivery.
Act as a key underwriting and trading lead across Professional Indemnity and Financial Lines business.
Trade, negotiate, quote, and place risks daily while delivering strong client and broker outcomes.
Monitor portfolio performance, pricing trends, loss activity, and broader trading metrics.
Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers, MGA partners, retail brokers, and London Market underwriters.
Develop placement strategies balancing coverage quality, pricing, speed to market, and sustainability.
Provide technical support and leadership on complex or high-value cases.
Lead and develop a growing Financial Lines team across both new business and renewals.
Establish clear expectations around pipeline management, service delivery, trading activity, and conversion performance.
Create strong trading disciplines across submissions, underwriting decisions, and client servicing.
Act as a senior referral point for underwriting, technical, and commercial matters.
Recruit, onboard, and support team development as the business grows.
Conduct regular coaching, performance management, and development discussions.
Support professional development and technical learning across the team.
Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
Ensure regulatory obligations, compliance requirements, and governance controls are consistently maintained.
Work closely with operational and support teams to support scalable growth and process improvements.
Contribute to reporting, workflow improvements, and management information development.
Represent the business at broker, insurer, and market meetings both locally and within the London Market where required.
Candidate Profile
CIP qualification required. Progression towards MDI or ACII would be advantageous.
Minimum eight years' experience within Professional Indemnity gained through wholesale broking, underwriting, or a hybrid trading environment.
Strong exposure to Construction Professional Indemnity risks, including Design & Construct, Architects, Engineers, and Surveyors.
Experience working within delegated underwriting authority environments would be highly advantageous.
Strong understanding of the Irish insurance market, insurer relationships, broker landscape, and market trends.
Experience operating within the London Market and capacity placement environment.
Strong commercial awareness with proven revenue generation and pipeline management capability.
Experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
Strong analytical capability with confidence interpreting trading performance and portfolio data.
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
Comfortable operating within a fast-paced, commercially focused environment.
Proficient across broking systems and reporting tools. Experience with Acturis, Power BI, and management reporting tools would be advantageous.
