OverviewAutomation TechnicianContract Duration/Type: PermanentLocation: Grange CastleHours: 39 Hours per weekRole SummaryThe automation technician will work with the Veolia Maintenance and Calibration team. He/she will liaise with the contract team, client engineering and equipment vendors for all issues relating to the automated systems in the assigned building, including BMS, QBMS, MCS, and VPE. The role involves resolving automation issues relating to utilities plant and equipment to ensure maximum uptime. Project work and reliability work are part of the role as required by the current client.Day to Day of the RoleMaintenance and troubleshooting of all client’s automated systemsCoordination and supervision of vendors and sub-contractors on siteCompletion of all related documentation in compliance with site and regulatory rules and guidelinesDelivery of delegated engineering tasks in compliance with good engineering practice and all regulatory, statutory and corporate requirementsUpdate stores spare lists as appropriate when requiredKeep training current in line with client’s requirements, i.e. SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), EWIs (Engineering Work Instructions), etc.Review Maintenance Task Lists, SOPs, EWIs, and other relevant documentation to instigate necessary changes post-reviewAll on-site work to be carried out in accordance with site EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) and Veolia EHS rules and guidelinesLiaise with client Automation groupAny other activities as directed by the Veolia Contract ManagerRequired Skills for the RoleNational Craft Certificate (or equivalent) in appropriate electro-mechanical/electrical/instrumentation disciplineCert/diploma/degree (or equivalent) in appropriate electro-mechanical/electrical/instrumentation disciplineExperience of SCADA / PLCAnalogue / Digital IO systemsLoop checkingElectrical, schematic and circuit diagram readingProcess automation experienceTroubleshooting/repair of Low Voltage Electrical SystemsGood organisational skillsExperience in pharmaceutical environmentGood documentation skillsTeam playerAttention to detailMethodical & analytical approach to workGood problem solving and troubleshooting abilityGood initiative and proactive attitude in approach to dutiesWork EligibilityPlease note: If you are an EU/EEA national, you will be asked to show proof of right to work in Ireland.
