St Joseph's Foundation are currently seeking a highly-motivated Behaviour Specialist to join our Children's Teams in CHO4 - North Cork (Fermoy CDNT)
St. Joseph's Foundation is a voluntary organisation providing comprehensive services for adults with intellectual disabilities and children with complex needs. Founded in 1968 the Foundation has grown through continuously responding to the needs of people with disabilities and complex needs. We are currently looking to recruit a highly motivated Behaviour Specialist to work within our dynamic & well established Children's Teams in North Cork (Fermoy CDNT), in our bespoke & newly appointed buildings.

SALARY SCALE:
Play Therapist (Basic/Senior): €43, €68,386.62

pro rata per anum

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
Principal Clinical Psychologist/Children's Disability Network Manager

LOCATION:

Overview Of The Post
To work as a member of the interdisciplinary Children's Disability Network Team providing quality services in a Family Centred Practice model to children aged 0-18 years and their families within the region. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of Behaviour Support services to include assessment and universal, targeted and direct intervention in an interdisciplinary model. The post holder will be required to work across a variety of settings including the clinic, schools, preschools and special schools, children's homes and community settings.

Minimum Qualifications/Education/Experience
Masters Degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis (or equivalent) & training in the area of Positive Behaviour Support.

Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) Certification is desirable

Undergraduate Degree in Psychology is desirable

Minimum of 3-5 years-experience working as a Behaviour Therapist/Specialist with children with intellectual disabilities/complex need, undertaking functional assessments & formulating/developing positive behaviour support plans with individuals/staff teams & families.

Excellent knowledge of current evidence-based best practice in the area of positive behaviour support.

Experience of working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary or inter-disciplinary team.

Experience of delivering training to teams.

Excellent communication, time management & inter-personal skills.

Full clean driving licence & access to own vehicle

Duties & Responsibilities:
To take a lead role in identifying function-based interventions and supports for young people who present with behaviours of concern via comprehensive functional behavioural assessments in line with best practice.

To design appropriate interventions for children with behaviours of concern in response to child and family needs and goals, and where indicated in collaboration with staff in mainstream or special education settings.

To design appropriate positive behavioural interventions for children with behaviours of concern in response to needs and goals.

To work collaboratively with children, their families & relevant professionals in all aspects of the role.

To provide support to staff & families in the implementation of positive behaviour programmes in all relevant environments.

To establish and maintain working relationships with professional colleagues from other disciplines in the inter-disciplinary team.

To maintain good relationships with other statutory and non-statutory agencies.

To participate in the organisation and development of psychological/behaviour Support services in Children's Service provision.

To adhere to St. Joseph's Foundation's and National and local CDNT policies.

To lead and/or participate in research programmes relevant to Children's Disability Services.

To keep up to date with current research, innovative approaches and recommended clinical practice in the areas of Children's service provision and Positive Behaviour Support.

Aim for the highest possible professional ethics and expertise

Be responsible for the co-ordination and delivery of service to their allocated caseload
