Job Description Position Title: Social Care Leader (SCL) Location: Cavan Reporting To: Deputy Social Care Manager (DSCM) / Social Care Manager (SCM) Introduction A residential care provider is seeking a Social Care Leader to support and supervise a team of social care staff in delivering person-centred, outcomes-focused care for young people with disabilities. Role Purpose The Social Care Leader will support the daily operations of the residential service, providing line management to care staff and direct support to the Deputy and Social Care Manager. They will ensure that care practices meet the highest standards and provide supervision, mentoring, and leadership to the care team. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum Level 7 qualification in Social Care (or related fields such as Nursing, Teaching, Social Work, Psychology, etc.) Additional training in areas such as supervision, TCI, First Aid, or Health & Safety is an advantage Strong understanding of social care principles and management practices Minimum of 2 years experience working at a social care grade with children Full driving licence is essential Key Responsibilities Report to and be supervised by the Deputy Manager/Manager Maintain high standards of care and promote the rights of residents Ensure effective staff handovers and co-chair team meetings Supervise designated social care staff, including documentation and performance management Support the Manager with data, reports, and attendance at relevant meetings Oversee daily duties of care staff and monitor rosters for skill/experience balance Address and escalate Health & Safety concerns appropriately Maintain confidentiality in all resident and staff-related matters Provide cover for the Deputy Manager when needed Share on-call responsibilities as required Carry out any other reasonable duties relevant to the post Skills: social care
