Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology with a special interest in Gynae‑oncology
£111,430 - £148,064 per annum pro rata
Raigmore Hospital, Inverness
We are looking for a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to join our multidisciplinary team of fourteen Consultants, four Specialty Doctors, four Specialty Registrars and six FY2/GPSTs. The role will involve working as a co‑operative, committed, and capable member of our collegiate consultant team.
Responsibilities
Provide clinical care through the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit and Obstetric Day Unit.
Lead and participate in the weekly MDT with Aberdeen, Grampian.
Attend and assist with robotic operating one day per week, daily CS list, and an afternoon gynaecology list.
Deliver specialist clinics including joint diabetic antenatal, maternal medicine and foetal medicine clinics, Fast‑track gynaecology, Colposcopy, unintended pregnancy, and outpatient hysteroscopy.
Support and participate in undergraduate teaching from Aberdeen University and in North of Scotland Deanery rotations.
Provide and support training in robotic assisted operating for the successful applicant if not yet qualified.
Contribute to the department’s strategic and clinical governance activities.
Qualifications & Experience
Hold a CCT or CESR in Gynaecology or Obstetrics, or be eligible within six months of interview.
Special interest in Gynaecology oncology (preferred).
Experience working within a large District General Hospital setting (454 beds, ~2,000 deliveries per year).
Experience or interest in robotic assisted surgery is advantageous.
