Cyber Risk & Assurance Specialist
Location: Cork
Type: Permanent | €55,000 - €80,000 DOE
A large organisation in the energy and infrastructure space is expanding its internal cyber assurance capability and is looking for someone who can support security reviews, risk assessments, and ongoing assurance activity across multiple tech environments. This role involves working closely with technology teams, security operations, and risk functions to highlight weaknesses, improve processes, and support overall cyber maturity.
You'll spend your time reviewing controls, helping teams understand their risk exposure, and following up to make sure agreed-upon improvements get delivered.
What You'll Be Doing
1. Build an understanding of internal systems and help identify areas where cyber risk could impact operations.
2. Support the planning and delivery of assurance reviews across cloud, network, and application environments.
3. Analyse findings, document risks, and help teams agree clear and achievable remediation actions.
4. Prepare reports and communicate results to senior stakeholders.
5. Track open issues and ensure improvements are completed properly.
6. Work with technical teams to give practical, balanced security advice.
What You Should Bring
7. Hands-on experience in at least a couple of key areas such as SIEM/SOC, firewalls, endpoint protection, identity management, vulnerability management, or incident response.
8. Familiarity with cloud environments and their security nuances.
9. Good knowledge of core security frameworks and assurance methods.
10. Strong communication skills and an ability to work objectively across different teams.
11. Organised, detail-focused, and comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
12. Interest in cyber security within large operational or critical-infrastructure environments.
