Note: This role may involve domestic and international travel and the occasional need to work unsocial hours including evenings and weekends. Tourism is an industry supporting over 300,000 jobs across the island of Ireland and it thereby contributes meaningfully to economies and communities. We partner with sister agencies, airlines, ferry companies, accommodation providers, visitor attractions and others to grow the value of tourism, and to provide visitors with an inspiring and unique experience. Set up under the auspices of the Good Friday Agreement, Tourism Ireland plays an important role as a North South body for a key industry on the island of Ireland, serving both Northern Ireland and Ireland.Key Results AreaAssist in the day-to-day running of Tourism Ireland's busy press office.Assist in preparing and distributing press releases, caption stories, newsletters, ezines and other corporate communications materials.Assist in running Tourism Ireland's programme of corporate events.Liaise with C&IC team to ensure that all financial and administrative processes are adhered to.Organise internal meetings as required (including virtual meetings). Assist with organising travel arrangements for external meetings and events.Upload corporate press releases, ezines and examples of overseas marketing campaigns (including photographs and videos) to Tourism Ireland's corporate website, to ensure that site content is refreshed every day.Assist in recording and editing of Tourism Ireland's corporate video packages.Assist in the day-to-day work of the Corporate Communications team, as required.Reception cover one or two days a week.Ensure adherence to the company's GDPR compliance policies and procedures in respect of this area of work.Represent Tourism Ireland at various industry, press and corporate functions and events as required.Such other duties as the company may from time-to-time reasonably requireThe PersonThe successful intern will possess the following experience, knowledge and skills, competencies, and qualifications:EssentialExcellent written and verbal communications skills.Strong administration/organisational skills with demonstrable attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database management.Good organisational and time management skills.Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as a team member.Strong team player.A relevant third level qualification.A proactive attitude and a desire to develop and learn.A commitment to Tourism Ireland's values and evidence of demonstrating these values in practice.RespectCollaborationOwnershipCreativityDesirableKnowledge and experience of working in a public relations or corporate media environment.Some experience of using video equipment and editing software packages (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro X).Knowledge of the island of Ireland and its tourism productBenefits of Tourism Ireland's Global Intern Programme:Opportunity for personal and professional growth.Exposure to a dynamic global marketing organisation and the wider Tourism Industry.Paid placement.Paid annual leave.Paid business expenses.Laptop provided for professional use for the duration of Internship.Onsite offices and hybrid working.Wellness support services.Tourism Ireland is an equal opportunity employer.
