Automation Engineer Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team in County Westmeath. As an Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality technical support to production and ensure that all equipment is functioning optimally.
* Fault-find complex automation equipment and implement continuous improvements to production machinery performance.
* Update and maintain safety systems in line with best practice to minimize risks and optimize productivity.
* Promote technical excellence within the maintenance team for automation engineering and recommend modifications to improve quality and reduce costs.
As an experienced Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, programming, and debugging PLC Control Systems, analyzing software programs written by other developers, and preparing and reviewing design documentation. You will also develop novel automation system designs and concepts, working closely with suppliers during installation and commissioning.
Requirements:
* Experience and/or qualifications in electro-mechanical maintenance fitting.
* Proven experience in fault-finding and problem-solving in automation systems.
* Proficiency in PLC Programming (Omron, Siemens, and Mitsubishi) and certified ABB and Kuka Robot programming.
* Strong understanding of automated controls and control systems, machine safety, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
