Position Summary
The Shipping Lead assists the Shipping Supervisor with operations and is accountable for ensuring scheduled movement of finished product and raw materials are executed in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate process flow and scheduling for the shipping and receiving area.
* Demonstrate knowledge and skills of all jobs within the department.
* Coach and mentor shipping and receiving employees.
* Ensure required paperwork is completed for pre and post shift activities.
* Ensure team members follow GMP/QA, sanitation, and procedures.
* Make recommendations or improvements to the Shipping Supervisor.
* Notate process irregularities and communicate with team members to correct problems.
* Ensure proper rotation of product is loaded using FIFO system.
* Ensure compliance for loading and replenishment of partial pallets.
* Responsible for ensuring trucks and trailers are loaded accurately per order requests.
* Safely utilize yard mule for transportation of raw materials.
* Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required.
* Uphold and participate in all Corporate Responsibility programming including recycling, social advocacy, and MMAD volunteering opportunities.
* Invest in and be an example of Milo’s Responsibility commitment which includes environmental, social, and corporate governance components.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
* Three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Ability to read and comprehend instructions and perform basic mathematical functions.
* Valid driver’s license required.
* Forklift and electric pallet jack certification will be required upon job placement.
