HR Business Partner
Location: Kilkenny
Job type: Permanent (On-site)
Overview of role:
As an HR Business Partner, you will undertake a broad range of HR-related responsibilities, working closely with the wider HR Business Partnering team and reporting to the Head of Business Partnering. The role combines both administrative and strategic responsibilities. You will form part of a highly motivated and dynamic HR team.
This is a fully on-site role based in Kilkenny, requiring daily presence to support stakeholders and operational delivery. You will be accountable for delivering a high-quality HR service, supporting onboarding, administering pay, benefits and leave, and ensuring policies and practices are applied consistently.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Work with business leaders and colleagues to create an environment of trust, dignity and respect
Act as a first point of contact for all HR-related queries, providing clear guidance in line with employment law and internal policies
Work closely with managers to ensure probationary periods are managed effectively
Administer benefits including time and attendance and pension
Liaise with payroll monthly, coordinating updates across the employee lifecycle
Manage employee relations cases as they arise
Monitor absenteeism with department managers and manage long‑term absence processes
Coordinate occupational health reviews and referrals
Support the delivery of the performance management cycle
Maintain accurate employee data in line with GDPR requirements
Deliver an effective, efficient and professional HR service
Ensure HR processes are applied consistently and fairly
Support HR system maintenance and administration
Assist managers in embedding policies and procedures
Mediate and facilitate issue resolution where required
Support audit preparation and compliance activity
Occasional travel may be required between sites

Qualifications & Experience:

2+ years’ experience at HR Business Partner or equivalent level
Degree or third‑level qualification in Business, HR or related area
CIPD qualification desirable
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to operate in a fast‑paced, on‑site environment
Strong IT skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
High attention to detail
Ability to work on own initiative
High level of integrity and confidentiality
