Junior Sous Chef
to join the senior kitchen team of its Michelin-starred restaurant.
This role presents an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious chef to develop their career within one of Ireland's most prestigious culinary environments.
Set in the heart of Adare Manor, The Oak Room delivers a polished yet relaxed fine dining experience defined by seasonality, restraint, and respect for Irish produce.
The kitchen works closely with a trusted network of growers, farmers, fishermen, and artisan producers from all four corners of the island, allowing ingredients to guide every dish.
The Role
As Junior Sous Chef, you will support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in the daily running of the kitchen, playing a key role in maintaining the standards expected of a Michelin-starred restaurant.
You will:
Support the execution of elegant, seasonal tasting menus using exceptional Irish ingredients
Take responsibility for specific sections within the kitchen, ensuring consistency, precision, and quality
Lead and support commis and demi chefs during service, setting standards by example
Assist with preparation, service, and organisation to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Contribute ideas and creativity to menu development and seasonal changes
Uphold the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and attention to detail
This is a hands-on role suited to a chef who is eager to learn, grow, and take on increasing responsibility in a high-performance environment.
About You
We are looking for a Junior Sous Chef with a strong foundation in fine dining and a genuine passion for ingredient-led cooking.
You will ideally bring:
Experience as a Junior Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie in a fine-dining or Michelin-standard kitchen
A solid understanding of classical techniques and modern European or Irish cuisine
A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and desire to continuously improve
The ability to work calmly and efficiently in a demanding service environment
Ambition to progress toward senior sous and head chef roles in the future
