The Oak Room at Adare Manor is seeking an exceptional
Sous Chef
to join the leadership team of its Michelin-starred restaurant.
This role offers an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious chef to work at the highest level of Irish hospitality while developing the skills, confidence, and experience required to progress to Head Chef.
At the heart of Adare Manor, The Oak Room delivers a refined, yet relaxed dining experience rooted in seasonality, craftsmanship, and a deep respect for Irish produce.
The kitchen works closely with a trusted community of farmers, growers, fishermen, and artisan producers from across the island, allowing ingredients to lead every menu.
The Role
As Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day leadership of the kitchen, supporting the Head Chef in delivering exceptional standards across every service.
You will:
Support the creation and execution of elegant, seasonal tasting menus inspired by the best Irish ingredients
Lead services with confidence, ensuring Michelin-star consistency, precision, and attention to detail
Act as a key mentor to the brigade, supporting training, development, and kitchen culture
Assist in menu development, sourcing, and supplier relationships
Maintain the highest standards of food quality, organisation, and hygiene
Step into a senior leadership role in the absence of the Head Chef
This is a hands-on role for a chef who thrives in a high-performance environment and takes pride in excellence.
About You
We are seeking a Sous Chef with strong fine-dining experience and a genuine passion for ingredient-led cooking.
You will ideally bring:
Experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous in a Michelin-starred or equivalent restaurant
A solid understanding of seasonality and modern European or Irish cuisine
Calm, confident leadership and the ability to lead a brigade by example
A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous improvement
Ambition to progress your career within Michelin-level kitchens
