Public Sector Infrastructure Specialist
This role involves working with a government-funded public sector organisation that plays a crucial part in delivering essential services to the state.
You will work on maintaining arterial drainage schemes, constructing flood defence schemes, and managing government properties. The organisation is overseen by the Minister of State at the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform.
Key Responsibilities
* Drainage Maintenance: Channel maintenance, embankment maintenance, and structure maintenance.
* Construction: Construction of earthen embankments, reinforced concrete walls, sheet piled retaining and defence walls, precast concrete culverts, and bank protection measures.
* Safety Officer Responsibilities: Familiarity with health and safety legislation, identifying hazards and assessing risks, advising supervisors, communicating health and safety requirements, making recommendations, and taking corrective action.
Requirements
* A Level 7 Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (National Framework of Qualifications).
* No less than 3 years of satisfactory experience of construction work and knowledge of construction methods, site management, and construction design process.
* Current Safe Pass Card, valid driving licence, and use of own transport.
* Comprehensive knowledge of construction and general health and safety management systems (ISO 45001:2018).
* Computer literacy and necessary IT skills.
* High level of interpersonal and communication skills.

Working on an initial hourly paid basis, typically being paid 40–45 hours each week, with a likely transition into a direct position with the Public Body if you can express your skill-set and value.
Pay is in the bracket of €30 per hour to €50 per hour, depending on your experience level, with 4 weeks holidays and all paid bank holidays.
