If you are passionate about data protection, eager to share your knowledge, and thrive in an inclusive workplace that encourages growth and teamwork, this is the ideal next step for your career.What you'll do:Monitor changes in Data Protection regulations and provide timely updates and comprehensive reports to senior compliance stakeholders.Conduct annual reviews and updates of the Data Protection and Privacy Framework to ensure alignment with group requirements and evolving legislation.Investigate data breaches thoroughly, perform root cause analysis on data governance issues, and recommend effective remedies to mitigate future risks.Review and analyse data management processes and procedures regularly, identifying areas for improvement to enhance overall compliance.Carry out Data Protection Impact Assessments as required, including regular reviews of high-risk data processing activities to ensure robust controls are maintained.Maintain an accurate and up-to-date Record of Processing Activities for the company, ensuring transparency and accountability at all times.Oversee compliant onboarding and management of third-party vendors, ensuring strong data protection controls are implemented throughout external partnerships.Participate actively in key functional meetings, working groups, and formulate responses to group-level or industry consultations as directed by senior management.Deliver engaging Data Protection awareness sessions and ongoing training programmes across the company to foster a culture of compliance.Contribute meaningfully to Privacy Champion meetings, group privacy calls, and represent the company in wider privacy projects within the organisation.What you bring:At least five years' experience working within compliance or legal roles focused on Data Protection or Privacy is essential for success in this position.Proven ability to analyse complex legal and regulatory requirements related to data protection within financial services or insurance sectors.Relevant third level degree qualification is mandatory for consideration for this role.LCOI designation is highly desirable as it demonstrates commitment to professional standards within compliance.Holding a recognised Data Protection qualification would be advantageous for candidates seeking this opportunity.Familiarity with life insurance products as well as cross-border business operations is required due to the nature of the organisation's activities.Deep understanding of Irish regulatory requirements governing data protection is necessary for effective performance in this role.Demonstrated commercial awareness with experience navigating life insurance cross-border markets is expected from applicants.Clear grasp of key business processes alongside strategic goals enables you to align compliance initiatives effectively with organisational objectives.Excellent interpersonal skills are vital for delivering training sessions, collaborating with colleagues across departments, and representing the company externally.Robert Walters Operations Limited is an employment business and employment agency and welcomes applications from all candidates
