Job Description
* Ensure community sanctions remain a viable disposal option for courts, and expand the range of available community sanctions and offender rehabilitation approaches.
* Develop new ways of working with criminal justice partners to integrate practices in offender management.
* Implement a victim-sensitive approach in offender work and develop restorative justice interventions and services.
* Promote and deliver community sanctions through community engagement.
Accountabilities
* Meet service standards and guidelines in preparing assessment reports on offenders.
* Supervise offenders subject to various court orders, including Probation Orders and Community Service Orders.
* Deliver Young Persons' Probation programmes, including preparation of court reports and engaging with young offenders.
* E nsure offenders comply with court orders and other managed orders.
* Provide interventions to reduce offending and establish pro-social behaviour among offenders.
Essential Criteria
* Candidates must hold a Level 8 qualification in Social Science or equivalent, recognised by CORU, or have entitlement to registration prior to appointment.
* Demonstrate interviewing, report writing, case management, and teamwork skills.
* Have knowledge of the Criminal Justice system and community resources.
