We're partnering with a globally recognised luxury retail business to appoint a Senior Legal Manager for one of its flagship European locations.
This is a high-impact, hands‑on legal leadership role, offering exposure to complex commercial arrangements, senior stakeholders, and a fast‑paced, international environment.
The opportunity
Reporting into senior leadership, you'll lead the on‑site legal function and act as a trusted advisor across the business.
The role blends commercial leasing, brand partnerships, corporate governance, and regulatory oversight, with real influence over strategic decisions.
Key responsibilities
Lead and develop the local legal function, owning performance and priorities
Draft, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial contracts, including brand, leasing, services, and marketing agreements
Support commercialisation and leasing activity, working closely with senior stakeholders and external counsel
Advise the business on EU, national, and local legal and regulatory changes
Provide pragmatic legal guidance across retail, marketing, operations, finance, and construction matters
Manage legal risk, including insolvency‑related issues and potential disputes
Oversee brand compliance, audits, and post‑contractual obligations
Support corporate governance matters (board materials, powers of attorney, corporate transactions)
Advise on IP protection, data protection compliance, and insurance matters
Control external legal spend and manage relationships with external advisors
About you
You'll be a commercially minded legal professional who enjoys being close to the business and influencing outcomes.
Qualified lawyer in the local jurisdiction
Typically 5+ years' post-qualification experience
Strong background in commercial contracts and marketing law
Confident negotiator with sound commercial judgement
Able to translate complex legal issues into clear, practical advice
Comfortable influencing senior stakeholders independently
Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
