- our award-winning team has extensive experience and has been involved in projects that have changed the face of transport networks in three countries.We dedicate ourselves to being 'better engineered' to ensure our transportation infrastructure solutions meet and exceed customer requirements, delivering value for money through innovation.Main Purpose of Role: Murphy is looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to prepare analytical estimates for a project to be used within the tender submission.Following the submission of the tender, the Senior Estimator will be responsible to attend meetings, negotiate and record all changes to the tender price as required.The Senior Estimator will also be responsible for the complete tender submission as necessary.This is an exciting role with the opportunity to work on some of the largest tenders in Ireland What you will be doing: Attend project start-up meetings and make site visits.Produce enquiry schedules for required scopes and packages from tender documents, drawings and specifications.Identify tender deliverables required from Project Designers.Evaluate supplier quotations and align them with project specification requirements.Prepare BOQs for project scopes using estimating software (CCS Candy).Contribute to the project risk register and attend risk meetings with estimators, planners, designers and client representatives.Attend tender price settlement meetings with the tender team and Chief Estimator.Attend tender handover meetings and prepare commercial documents for the project team.Carry out duties in line with Murphy Quality and Health & Safety Management Systems.Support the Chief Estimator in coordinating with functional leaders to resolve issues and develop accurate estimates.Make tender amendments based on client feedback and respond to tender queries from project teams.Review contract details with the Contract Manager/Senior Management to assess delivery capability.Review tender documents to assess scope, risks, complexity and provide feedback to the Chief Estimator.Who we are looking for: CSCS Card (relevant type) Degree in Quantity Surveying / Engineering / Construction Management or Similar Minimum 7 years' construction experience and site experience on projects Experience of public sector clients and private sector clients Proven successful estimating experience in civil engineering, including undertaking role of an estimator Extensive variety in types of work priced Be able to review ITT Technical & Commercial documentation on an individual project basis Good communication skills including presentations and ability to negotiate and persuade others What you'll get in return: 27 days holiday, plus bank holidays with the option to buy an additional 2 days holiday each year, holidays increase with length of service Discretionary annual bonus and annual salary review Above market rate contributory pension scheme Life assurance, health screening and enhanced sick pay Generous Private Healthcare Allowance Enhanced maternity and paternity pay and a maternity returners bonus Extra 2 days holiday for all employees getting married and a wedding bonus Dedicated and continued investment in your professional development Other Murphy benefits include retail discounts, discounted gym memberships, cycle to work scheme etc About Murphy Murphy is formally recognised as a sector leading employer, Platinum Investors In People accredited.At Murphy, we are incredibly proud of our diverse workforce.Not only do our people represent over 60 different nationalities, but they also represent a wide range of backgrounds, ethnicities and ages.If you are unable to apply via the usual process, please call Sarah Barrett on to discuss in more detail.Murphy is unable to employ anyone who does not have the legal right to live and work in Ireland.To be considered for this role you will be redirected to and must complete the application process on our careers page.
