We are now recruiting for a Mechanical / Electrical Engineer to join our team and to help grow this division of our business. We are looking for an experienced Engineer/Electrician whose values align with what we do.
The role would be based on Monday-Friday hours with a competitive salary and a company vehicle as well as other benefits. Ideally the candidate would have 3+ years’ experience within industrial machinery installations / repairs & servicing, as well as being a fully qualified electrician (QQI Level 6 advanced certificate craft – electrical an advantage) however, this may not be essential for candidates with proven experience within the mechanical field of repairing / servicing industrial machinery.
As many of our customers have service agreements in place, our technicians would spend a lot of time on the road servicing machines, providing staff training to our customers and from time to time, dealing with urgent breakdowns. It is essential the successful candidate would be available to travel around Ireland and be prepared to stay overnight in different parts of the country (weekday / night only). Some of the smaller machines/tools would be serviced/repaired within our Forge Hill, Cork based, Workshop. Occasionally, it would be necessary to travel abroad for training on machinery however, no more than 2-3 times per year.
The chosen candidate would be expected to:
• Be self-motivated and prepared to be flexible when the occasion demands.
• Have the ability to multi-task, prioritise, and manage time effectively.
• Have driving license cat B - essential.
• Have QQI Level 6 advanced certificate craft – desirable.
• Have Safepass and Manual Handling Certificates - desirable.
• Have 3+ years’ experience within industrial machinery installations, repairs, and servicing.
• Experience in reading manuals as well as spare parts diagrams.
• Experience in reading and understanding electrical diagrams – desirable.
The Role:
• Be equipped to service and repair machinery / equipment at both customers’ and STP sites.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders from Servicing and Purchasing to ensure service / repair obligations are met and fulfilled according to the schedules.
• Liaise with customers to ensure expected level of service is provided.
• Build long term trustful relationships with customers and their relevant stakeholders such as Site / Maintenance Managers etc.
• Remain knowledgeable on all products offered and be prepared to upskill/update that knowledge when necessary. • Be equipped to install and commission new machinery / equipment at customer’s site.
• Be equipped to carry out test runs and pre-sales quality checks on machinery / equipment at STP site.
