IDAS Trout Farm Ltd. operates four farms in Co. Wicklow, growing premium Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) from egg to market size. We are a leading Irish aquaculture business focused on sustainable production and high-quality fish for the Irish and European markets.
The Role
We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Assistant Farm Manager to join our team. This is a hands-on, outdoor role suited to someone ready to take on more responsibility, lead a team, and support the management of daily farm operations. You will help drive site maintenance, production, and technological advancement while upholding the highest standards of fish welfare.
Key Responsibilities:
-Day-to-day husbandry of Rainbow Trout.
-Maintain high standards of fish health and welfare.
-Enforce quality control processes across all farm operations.
-Support ASC and Global GAP compliance and audit preparation.
-Record keeping (stock records, performance data, paperwork).
-Operate and maintain fish farm machinery and equipment.
-Perform general site and equipment maintenance.
-Manage and work as part of a small, dedicated team.
-Participate in weekend and out-of-hours cover on a rotational basis.
-Complete miscellaneous tasks as required to support farm operations.
-Upkeep of farm records, to ensure continuous compliance
Essential Skills & Requirements:
-Proven experience in fish farming or similar outdoor maintenance role.
-Full driving licence (trailer licence an advantage, not essential).
-Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
-Ability to lead and motivate a small team.
-Good communication skills (spoken and written English required for safety).
-Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
-Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Pay: €36,000.00-€48,000.00 per year
