Circet Ireland’s Energy Division are looking for a Trainee Line Worker to join our team. The role covers works across the Northwest of Ireland.
Main Purpose
The Trainee Line Worker is responsible for carrying out maintenance and renewal of overhead line equipment and associated power supply systems to meet the needs of the division. They must cooperate with the PICW and the Site Supervisor, observe all safety precautions, and carry out all instructions precisely. The Trainee is a dedicated member of the project team, adhering to procedures, focusing on quality, productivity and cost‑efficiency, and engaging in a challenging, dynamic, team‑based environment.
Main Duties

Ensure all work complies with current and future health and safety legislation, standards and procedures.
Interface with Chargehand/PICW, Linespersons in the team, Site Supervisor and Customer Representatives.
Interface with client representatives and customers.
Report near‑misses and good catches in a timely manner.
Work at height on poles and towers safely and professionally, using MEWPs where required.
Carry out maintenance, repair and refurbishment of overhead lines under the supervision of the Chargehand/Supervisor.
Utilise all equipment necessary for working on the overhead line network as detailed in the OHL manual.
Be responsible when carrying out works on the customer’s property.
Complete other duties as assigned.

Experience, Skills and Knowledge

Full Category B driving licence.
Must pass a colour vision test, have good literacy, verbal and numeracy skills.
Previous experience in construction, agriculture or general operative sectors.
Ability to work at heights is essential.
Good hand/eye coordination, manual dexterity and spatial aptitude.
Reached the statutory school leaving age.
Must have an appropriate level of fitness and physical ability to carry out duties as described.
Must be willing to travel throughout Ireland.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a team.
Willing and able to perform duties in all weather conditions in rural and remote locations.
