Senior Contract Specialist Job Description
The Senior Contract Specialist oversees the execution of contracts to ensure effective management and administration.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop a comprehensive contract management strategy that aligns with organizational procedures and guidelines.
* Conduct thorough analysis of contract terms and conditions to identify potential risks and recommend mitigation measures.
* Manage the pre-award process through bid evaluation, recommendation, and selection.
* Prepare bid tabulations, contractor recommendations, and select contractors within delegated authority.
* Establish mechanisms to monitor compliance with contract terms and conditions.
* Collaborate with project teams to identify constructive contract changes and recommend resolutions.
* Develop and implement procedures for recognizing and addressing contract claims in a timely manner.
* Provide reviews and analysis of contract financial data to stakeholders.
* Ensure adherence to contract insurance provisions and implement requirements accordingly.
* Perform other duties as required by senior management.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* 5+ years' experience in contract management, administration, and NEC experience.
* Proven track record of conducting contract management in major rail projects or projects of similar scale/complexity.
* Experience and courses in pricing, contract law, contract drafting, administration, and negotiation of change orders, effective correspondence, planning, and scheduling.
* Thorough knowledge of contract administration, home-office, and field procedures and documents relating to a multi-discipline construction project.
* Working knowledge of engineering/construction industry contracting practices, applicable government regulations, and commercial practices.
