Candidates shall:
a. hold an honours degree (level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications) in Engineering;
b. have at least five years of satisfactory relevant engineering experience;
c. possess a high standard of technical training and experience; and
d. possess a high standard of administrative experience.

Desirable Requirements
It is desirable that each candidate shall:
* Hold a qualification in Energy Services or Energy Management;
* Be a Certified Energy Manager (CEM);
* Have experience in energy data management, energy consumption Monitoring and Reporting (M&R) and other reporting methods to SEAI;
* Demonstrate knowledge and experience in implementing and maintaining ISO50001 energy management system;
* Have experience in the design, project management, and energy efficiency projects;
* Have knowledge and experience of energy auditing practices and reporting, Non-domestic Building Energy Rating (BER) assessment and modelling, Display Energy Certificates (DECs) and BERs for public buildings;
* Have experience in the design, funding, and project management of renewable energy projects, electrical or thermal;
* Understand public sector obligations regarding energy efficiency and carbon reduction targets, climate change, and energy use impacts;
* Have high technical competence in formulating, implementing, and managing strategies, plans, and stakeholder engagement;
* Demonstrate excellent project management skills with successful outcomes and stakeholder collaboration;
* Can manage multiple projects of varying scale and complexity;
* Exhibit excellent communication skills and relationship-building with agencies;
* Have a high level of IT competence;
* Experience participating in EU projects, including funding, international partnerships, and project management;
* Possess financial and budget management experience.
