Job Title: Artic Driver (Category CE Driver) Department: Transport / Logistics Reports To: Transport Manager / Fleet Manager Location: Clare Employment Type: Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available Job Purpose The Artic Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transportation of goods using articulated vehicles. The role requires adherence to all road transport legislation, company policies, and health and safety standards while delivering a professional service to customers and maintaining high operational standards. Key Responsibilities Operate articulated (Artic) vehicles safely and professionally in accordance with road traffic legislation and company procedures. Complete deliveries and collections efficiently while meeting scheduled deadlines. Conduct daily vehicle and trailer inspections and report defects promptly. Ensure loads are secured correctly and transported safely in compliance with legal requirements. Complete delivery dockets, defect reports, tachograph records, and all relevant transport documentation accurately. Comply with Driver CPC requirements, tachograph regulations, driver hours legislation, and Working Time Directive requirements. Maintain vehicle and trailer cleanliness and carry out basic vehicle care checks. Report breakdowns, accidents, delays, or incidents to management immediately. Provide excellent customer service when dealing with customers, suppliers, and members of the public. Assist with loading and unloading where required. Follow all company health, safety, environmental, and security procedures. Communicate effectively with the Transport Manager regarding routes, schedules, and operational issues. Skills & Experience Essential Previous experience driving articulated (Artic) vehicles. Excellent driving record and strong knowledge of road transport regulations. Good understanding of driver hours, tachograph rules, and transport compliance requirements. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Good organisational and problem-solving skills. Desirable Experience in general haulage, container transport, refrigerated transport, or multi-drop operations. Familiarity with electronic proof-of-delivery systems and transport management software. Experience operating throughout Ireland Qualifications Essential Full Category CE (Artic) Driving Licence. Valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence). Digital Tachograph Driver Card. Good knowledge of transport legislation and road safety requirements.
