Head Chef – Co. Limerick
Excel Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting an experienced and passionate Head Chef for our client's busy hotel in Co. Limerick. This is a full-time, senior culinary leadership role requiring a dynamic chef who thrives in a fast-paced environment, delivers exceptional food standards, and enjoys leading a high-performing kitchen team.
Salary: €65k – €70k
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the full management of the kitchen, ensuring top-quality preparation and presentation of all menu items
2. Lead, motivate, and supervise the kitchen team, coordinating rosters, managing labour costs, supporting recruitment, and driving performance
3. Take a hands-on approach during busy periods, confidently leading service from the front
4. Create and implement innovative, seasonal menu concepts and special event offerings
5. Organise, delegate, and prioritise kitchen tasks effectively while monitoring staff performance and providing timely feedback
6. Train, mentor, and coach kitchen staff to ensure consistent standards and professional development
7. Prepare, cook, and present dishes and sauces to a consistently high standard while maintaining pace and efficiency
8. Build strong working relationships with suppliers, service staff, and other departments
9. Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food safety procedures, and kitchen documentation, while supporting sustainability initiatives and minimising waste
10. Foster a positive, collaborative team culture, ensuring all kitchen procedures and standards are upheld
Requirements:
11. Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef in a hotel or similar high-standard kitchen environment
12. HACCP trained with a strong focus on hygiene and food safety
13. Passionate about delivering exceptional, creative, and innovative food
14. Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills
15. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure
16. Fluent in written and spoken English
17. Professional appearance and a positive, proactive work ethic
18. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends
19. Must be legally entitled to work full-time variable shifts in Ireland
