We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Civil Engineering Estimator to join our tendering team in Galway.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Collaboration
Lead the preparation and submission of tender estimates, coordinating with internal teams, consultants, and subcontractors.
Manage all aspects of tender submissions, including design coordination where required.
Supervise and mentor Assistant Estimators, ensuring high-quality outputs.
Provide guidance and support to colleagues across the Tendering Department and the wider business.
Tender Preparation
Obtain and analyse quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Estimate costs for direct staff, labour, plant, and materials.
Prepare tender programmes with input from delivery managers.
Identify, assess, and price key risks and opportunities within tender submissions.
Ensure tender prices are reviewed and approved in line with company procedures.
Contribute technical and project-specific input to quality submission documents.
Commercial & Technical Knowledge
Maintain strong knowledge of standard Forms of Contract used across the Group, and assess implications of amendments.
Keep up to date with statutory requirements affecting project execution.
Ensure tenders account for safe work practices and compliance with HSQE standards.
Participate in post-tender reviews and assist in the smooth handover of successful bids.

Requirements
Degree in a construction-related discipline or equivalent professional experience.
10+ years' proven experience in the construction industry, ideally in civil engineering.
Strong knowledge of both Irish and UK construction markets is highly desirable.
Solid understanding of commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects.
Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and meet strict deadlines.
Excellent communication, leadership, and team collaboration skills.
Full, clean Irish/UK/EU driving licence.
Must be authorised to work in Ireland (valid Work Permit or Stamp 4 visa required).
