Auto Conversions Limited Trading as Wilker Auto Conversions (Wilker) is one of the leading vehicle converters in Ireland and the UK and is now growing to become an internationally recognised vehicle conversion specialist. It is headquartered in Clara Co. Offaly and also has a production facility in Sandbach, Cheshire UK. Wilker provides vehicle conversions for the ambulance services, fire services, GARDA and military as well as customised vehicles for the commercial & industrial sectors. Our extensive customer base extends throughout Ireland, England, Scotland & Wales, The Isle of Wight and Jersey, with Exports to Cyprus, Trinidad & Tobago and Abu Dhabi.
Role Overview:
Due to ongoing growth, we are looking to hire a Junior Electrical Engineer to join our team. This full-time role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the design, installation, and testing of electronic and electrical systems (12v and 110V/240v) for a variety of specialist vehicles, including A&E ambulances. This role is ideal for a candidate early in their engineering career who has a desire to learn and develop their skills in vehicle electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:

Support the design and layout of electrical systems for vehicle conversions.
•
Assist with creating wiring loom designs, sourcing electrical components, and developing installation processes for vehicle systems such as lighting, sirens, and battery management.
•
Collaborate with senior engineers and technicians on pre-production designs and implement feedback on process improvements.
•
Learn to program and configure OEM vehicle systems in collaboration with experienced engineers.
•
Troubleshoot electrical systems as required, learning to diagnose and resolve issues with guidance.
•
Occasionally support hands-on installation of systems and work closely with the team to ensure quality and safety standards.
Experience and Skills:
•
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an electrical engineering role, ideally within an automotive or manufacturing environment.
Strong interest in developing skills in vehicle electrical systems and conversions.
•
Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles, with a willingness to learn and expand technical skills.
•
Good problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.
•
Ability to work effectively within a team and follow established processes.
Salary & Benefits:

Salary: €35,000-€45,000 per year.
