About The Role This is a newly created individual contributor position within the Global Regulatory Affairs Office.
The successful candidate will report to the Validation Testing Manager and bring proven expertise in financial services assurance and validation testing activities.
They will contribute to the design and execution of remediation quality control/validation testing plans.
Significant remediation activities include regulator and internal audit requirements.
The candidate will interact and build relationships with senior management across Northern Trust, and use technical ability in executing the remediation quality control/validation testing plan.
The role will manage and execute the remediation quality control/validation testing program, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and translating multiple requirements into a balanced validation program.
The professional will supply subject‑matter expertise and execute rigor to enable management and coordination of issue validation and related testing activities.

Accurately design and execute the quality control/validation approach and ensure documentation is clear, concise, supports reviews, and explains decisions.
Identify and analyze risks, plan and prioritize validation tasks for on‑time delivery, conduct interviews, observe operations, document and analyze processes and controls.
Exercise responsibility over execution of assigned regulatory validation projects and deliverables, ensuring work is performed promptly and accurately, leading the testing team's execution.
Develop and show understanding of business risks, controls, processes, relevant laws, regulatory rules, and systems impact.
Escalate and/or communicate with stakeholders to discuss issues and agree on resolutions.
Qualifications and Desired Experience
Several years in financial services with proven testing experience in a financial institution or consultancy.
Superior analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and adapt to changing plans.
Excellent oral and written communication at all levels.
Experience in financial services, internal audit or risk management, deep knowledge of risk frameworks.
Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CISA, CIA, ACA, ACCA) or MBA/JD and proven technical abilities in regulatory compliance, risk management, and auditing.
Initiative, people skills, decision‑making, analytical mindset, political awareness, and sensitivity to cultural diversity.
Ability to manage through critical issues and realign priorities and deliverables.
Form evaluative judgments based on complex information.
