Financial Controller – Castlebar
Location: Castlebar, Co. Mayo Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Start Date: Flexible
Our client is currently seeking an experienced and commercially-minded Financial Controller to join their team in Castlebar. This is a key leadership role that will contribute directly to financial strategy, performance, and decision-making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead financial planning, budgeting, and tax compliance across company entities
Prepare and analyse accurate financial reports, forecasts, and statements
Advise senior management on financial results and key business decisions
Oversee transactional finance, contracts, margin analysis, and internal reporting
Drive strategic business planning with data-led insights and recommendations
Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring strong controls and accountability
Manage intercompany transactions, payroll, cash flow, and working capital
Optimise financial systems and implement improved processes and efficiencies
Maintain and enhance corporate governance, risk management, and internal controls
Provide expert financial guidance on company-wide initiatives and decisions
Requirements:
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA)
Proven experience in a senior financial role, ideally as a Financial Controller
Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills
Strong technical knowledge in financial strategy, compliance, and reporting
Ability to work hands-on with day-to-day financial duties while contributing to broader strategic goals
Proficiency in modern financial technologies and ERP/accounting systems
Commercial awareness and sound judgment in decision-making
