The NTMA offers benefits including flexible work options, wellbeing programmes, learning and development, diversity initiatives, professional membership fee reimbursement and a career-average Defined Benefit Pension Scheme.Role SummaryThe ICT Security & Networks Administrator, reporting to the Head of ICT Cyber Security & Networks, participates in delivering and maintaining the confidentiality, integrity and high availability of NTMA data and services in a hybrid network model. It involves configuring and managing networking and data communications infrastructure on premise and in a hybrid cloud environment, and assisting in the management of ICT security technologies with a focus on network management, responding to security system alerts and suspicious activity. The role requires keeping up to date with technical systems and relevant professional certifications, and awareness of security and network risks, trends and process innovations relevant to the Agency’s business systems.Principal AccountabilitiesParticipate in managing and maintaining a secure network infrastructure and communication systems across the Agency with emphasis on availability, security practices and monitoring tools. Duties include, but are not limited to:Administration and support of network security control tools including firewalls, network access management and other network security elementsAssist in evaluating security of new products and services (on premise and cloud services)Troubleshoot and analyse network security across technologiesMonitor security system logs and reports for anomaliesSupport network security and system auditing and vulnerability assessmentsParticipate in remediation and mitigation of detected vulnerabilitiesRequired QualificationsBachelor Degree in Computing, Engineering or equivalent qualification or experienceCertification/Qualifications in industry recognised Network and Security disciplinesThe following would be a distinct advantage:Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet Certifications, Checkpoint CCSA, Palo AltoMicrosoft Network, Security, or Cloud certificationsAny relevant networking and IT security qualificationsExperienceMinimum of 5 years’ experience in a network security administration role for a medium-sized organisationSolid knowledge of LAN, WAN, DMZ, VPN and DNS technologies and protocolsExperience supporting network security management solutionsKnowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)Experience with Fortinet and Checkpoint security technologiesExperience with web and email content filters and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS)Understanding of cloud networking and security conceptsExperience with cloud-based security solutions and best practicesFamiliarity with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001 and CISExperience with ticketing tools for Incident, Change & Problem ManagementExperience in the following areas would be advantageous:Experience with CISCO and Palo Alto technologiesExperience with SIEM and NDR for network security monitoringExperience with Access and Identity Management and Privileged Access Management solutionsExperience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Virtual Networks, Azure Firewall and Azure Security CentreSkillsAptitude for solving problems and acting on own initiativeStrong team player with a flexible approachHighly motivated with a willingness to adapt and learn new skillsEffective written and verbal communication with a positive and confident attitudePension AbatementIf an appointee has previously been employed in the Civil or Public Service and is entitled to or in receipt of a pension, abatement may apply under the Public Service Pension Act 2012.
