End User Computing (EUC) Desktop Support Engineer - Dublin Hybrid 2-3 days onsite ( Contract Role)
A leading professional services organisation is seeking an experienced End User Computing (EUC) Desktop Support Engineer to join its growing IT Operations team for the duration of a project.
The EUC Desktop Engineer will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the end-user technology environment, with a strong focus on Microsoft 365 services, modern endpoint management, and secure, reliable desktop experiences.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal IT teams and business stakeholders to ensure staff are equipped with well-managed devices, collaboration tools, and workspace technology that enable productivity and security.
The Job:
Desktop & Endpoint Engineering
* Build, configure, and maintain a Windows 11 desktop environment.
* Manage endpoint configuration, compliance policies, and application deployment using modern device management tools (e.g., Intune, SCCM).
* Support endpoint provisioning and device lifecycle management.
* Implement and maintain security baselines, OS hardening, and endpoint protection controls.
User Workspace & Peripherals Management
* Deploy, manage, and support user workspace equipment, including monitors, docking stations, and laptop peripherals.
* Ensure optimal workstation setups, including desk cabling and ergonomic standards.
* Diagnose and resolve hardware issues, coordinating repairs and replacements as required.
Operations & Support
* Provide advanced troubleshooting for endpoint devices, hardware, and applications (Tier 2 support).
* Maintain endpoint monitoring and reporting to track device health and compliance.
* Support asset management processes, including device inventory and hardware refresh cycles.
* Work closely with the Service Desk to resolve escalations and improve support workflows.
Microsoft 365 Administration
* Support and optimise Microsoft 365 services, including Teams, Exchange Online, and OneDrive.
* Administer Entra ID, Conditional Access policies, MFA, and device compliance settings.
* Assist with user lifecycle management, license assignments, and service configuration.
* Monitor Microsoft 365 service health and resolve service-related issues.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
* Contribute to EUC and Microsoft 365 initiatives such as infrastructure upgrades, productivity improvements, and security enhancements.
* Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and improved user experience.
* Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and support guidelines.
Have you:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
* 3-5 years' experience in End User Computing, desktop engineering/support, or endpoint management roles.
* Hands-on experience with endpoint management platforms (e.g., Intune, SCCM).
* Experience working with device analytics and monitoring tools
* Certifications (Highly Desirable)
* CompTIA A+ and/or Network+
* Microsoft 365 Endpoint Administrator Associate
* ITIL Foundation or equivalent service management certification
Technical Skills
* Strong knowledge of Windows 11, desktop engineering, and troubleshooting methodologies.
* In-depth experience with end-user hardware (laptops, monitors, docking stations, peripherals).
* Proven experience packaging, deploying, and maintaining applications.
* Strong Microsoft 365 expertise, including Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online, and Entra ID
* Knowledge of endpoint security controls such as MFA, Conditional Access, Defender for Endpoint, encryption, and compliance policies.
* Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi)
* Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
* PowerShell scripting skills for automation and administrative tasks (desirable).
